Johnson Regional Medical Center Joins Arkansas Children’s Hospital Nursery Alliance to Elevate Newborn Care

DATE POSTED

CLARKSVILLE, ARK. (March 19, 2026) – Johnson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) is the newest member of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) Nursery Alliance. The statewide collaborative is designed to strengthen newborn care by linking community hospitals with the state’s most advanced pediatric resources.

This alliance builds on the exceptional care already provided by JRMC’s physicians, nurses and care teams at Clarksville Women’s Center, which delivers more than 400 babies annually. By joining the alliance, JRMC gains direct access to neonatology expertise and best practices from ACH, the state’s only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The collaboration ensures families in the River Valley benefit from advanced clinical resources while remaining close to their support systems at home.

“At the heart of every decision we make is a commitment to the families who trust us with their most precious moments,” said Tommy Hobbs, President and CEO of Johnson Regional Medical Center. “By joining this alliance, we aren’t just expanding our resources; we are wrapping a stronger blanket of care around our mothers and newborns. We are proud to stand with Arkansas Children’s to ensure our tiniest patients have the healthiest start possible, right here at home.”
The ACH Nursery Alliance, established in 2016, includes eight Arkansas hospitals committed to improving infant health outcomes.

As a member of the alliance, JRMC will benefit from comprehensive clinical and educational resources, including:

  • * 24/7 Consultative Support: Access to ACH neonatologists via ACH’s TeleNICU program for real-time physician-to-physician consultation.
  • * Advanced Training: Specialized education and simulation exercises for provider, nursing and respiratory therapy staff to maintain the highest standards of neonatal resuscitation and care.
  • * Standardized Protocols: Implementation of evidence-based “best practices” to improve outcomes for at-risk infants.
  • * Seamless Coordination: Streamlined processes for transport and advanced care if a newborn requires specialized intervention at a Level IV NICU.

“Every child in Arkansas deserves a healthy start, no matter where they are born,” said Marcy Doderer, FACHE, President and CEO of Arkansas Children’s. “Through partnerships like this we meet families exactly where they are, bringing specialized care directly into their communities. The health of Arkansas mothers and children depends on this spirit of collaboration.”

The alliance also focuses on reducing infant mortality rates across the state — a critical health priority in Arkansas — by focusing on early intervention and standardized care for high-risk neonates.
